Why is it so difficult?

I know there are several promotors that lerk on here and a few that post so here is the question. Why is it so hard to find the purse structure on their web sight. I found kokomo, and lawerenceburge, but no others. Maybe it is just well hidden. With the price of everything going up why is it purses stay the same.I was looking at my taxes and fuel for the truck and car is up, pit passes went up at times, tires are up, motors are way up, and most everything else, but we are running for 80s purses. This just seems funny to me IMO.

Gosh... you means there is at least one other person in the United States that would like to see the racers and owners get paid a decent wage? This is earth shaking.

Purse information , structure / pay-out is seldom posted on track web sites that host sanctioned events. In other cases the track ownership is not the event promoter. At any rate , most tracks do not see the necessity to share purse info with the grandstand customer , I've been told.
Yes , the purse is horrible and a comparison to the 80's is legitimate. Will it improve ? No. As one of the best known midget owners in the U.S. told me just a few months ago , "as long as we continue to show up nothing will change". He added , "who's going to feel sorry for us ... we buy a $40,000 engine and run it for 800 bucks !". if you dont like it then park your midget, and quit paying these "rich" track owners and promoters your entry fees. i've never owned a race car or a race track but i would say the track owners and promoters are not making a whole lot more then the car owners and drivers. costs of everything are rising everyday on both sides.

the market won't bear higher purses. most promotors are struggling to get weekly fans in the stands as it is. you can increase the purses all you want but, the money has to come from somewhere. I don't see increased "regular show" purses and higher front gate prices doing anything to attract new fans. now that we are in the era of back gate promoting with 3 to 5 classes for a regular show, I believe it will be even more difficult to attract new fans. you can make money promoting short track racing but, I can't see where too many promotors are actually enjoying a "comfortable" life style from it.
