After six days and I don't know how many mile's,Indiana Sprint Week has come to end. Six new tracks, lots of new food, and sprint car fans from every corner of this country all in these six places of speed and fun.
Short, long, flat, or high banked, it made no difference what the surface or the angle of the corners these teams all came with one thing in mind, racing against each other, and they really did it well. A great week of racing. With a 9 point lead coming into Tri State Speedway Levi Jones still had his work cut out for him starting 8th row inside and Jon Stanbrough outside front row. It did not take long for the suspense to go away as Jones ran over a wheel and ended upside down on the front straightaway, end of his Sprint Week. Stanbrough played it smart and settled for 2nd place behind Blake Fitzpatrick, just keep running and take no chances. Now with 14 Sprint Week wins Stanbrough is in a tie with Dave Darling for most wins for the series. The quiet driver that let's his racing do all the speaking that needs to be said, one of the top drivers to strap into a wingless sprint. The rocking chair he won will only hold this guy for so long and he will be back sliding by someone for the lead and the win. A true champion for a series loaded with historic drivers.Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSgB-MhdYkE |
