I know I'll get killed for saying this, but why are you running sprints against Sprint Week?! I know if I ran one of the Sprint Week tracks, there would be absolutely no way Putnamville would get a date next year. But then again, USAC will be there next Saturday, so I suppose THEY really don't care (What a difference from the past, eh?)

Don't get too mad at me, Putnamville homers, that's just how I feel.

With only 40 some cars a night it looks like lps will have plenty of cars and it shouldn't hurt isw very much if at all. The USAC regs won't be there but they don't like to run weekly anyway.

how come you feel that way about Putnamville running but you don't say a word about Paragon running besides in the long run USAC wants to run LPS as much as LPS wants USAC Back maybe if USAC had run a Sprintweek show at LPS this year they could have said please don't run Sprints on a Sprintweek night but Joe Spiker has bills to pay as a promoter so he needs to run his regular show and besides putnamville will not take one car away from haubstadt tonight

Just my 2 cents

Why would Dickie go to Tri State , hes not in the points for Indiana Sprint Week , and he is on one hell of a roll at LPS , I would think he would be at LPS Sat night and collect his $1,400.00 and the cash after that in the special race.

Last Saturday, Jul 10: Gas City on the 2d night of Sprint Week had 44 cars; on the same night LPS had 44 cars. These are weekly racers, not travelling USAC regulars. They're probably not going to haul all over the state to run against the higher financed teams when LPS is their home track, they are treated well, the track has been good, and they have a better chance at the win/higher place. So, the bottom line is, LPS doesn't take anything away from USAC Sprint Week and USAC doesn't take anything away from the LPS regular shows. Win/win for everyone. Local fans don't have to drive 300 miles (rt), don't have to fight the crowds for seats and parking, and the racing is just as good. I'll be at LPS tonight.

Chris that is a good point of why run against ISW.

Last week LPS ran their regular local show against Gas City, both tracks had 44 cars and Paragon [which you didn't mention as running against ISW] had 38 cars. Waynesfield had near 20 too.

That's 146 cars that raced on Saturday.

So it hasn't hurt car counts at all. Good quality cars at the USAC ISW events, lowest has been 38 I think?

Plus if all tracks shut down sprint car racing for ISW what would the other 102 cars do?

I know you have been around and know that many sprint teams don't run USAC because they feel their equipment isn't equal, don't want to pay the extra fees for a race or two and drivers are required to have a head restraint.

Now lets talk about the KISS series that when Gerry Olsen first put it together all tracks agreed not to run against each other. Well that has changed as well.

Needless to say things have changed in racing. USAC has their 24 hour rule in effect to ensure they have the top drivers.

Lots of racers and race fans should really come to LPS and give the new Ownership at Putnamville a chance.
See for yourself.
Come to the track and take a look at the changes that have been made to the pits, track, stands, landscape and all of the class payouts have been increased.
Track officals have been enhaced as well with Brian Hodde the Flagman, Leroy from Gas City in the pits and more to come.

The USAC fans will travel to their favorite ISW events and I'm sure some choose to attend another event cause it's closer to home or can't afford to gas and extra money and stay home to watch sprints at Paragon, Putnamville or Waynesfield. 7 ISW races x $20 X 7 Gas & Food, not a lot of fans have that much to spend to attend ISW.

As far as what USAC thinks? ask Kevin Miller or Jason Smith & McCord they seem to be very happy with the New management. LPS had a rain out May 1st sprints, Indiana Midgetweek June 17th and added July 24th plus the September 10th Sprintrace. So I think USAC is happy.

Yes I am a Putnamville Homer and proud of it !
No I'm not mad just pointing out the facts.

ps- Dickie ran LPS and won last Saturday instead of hauling north to ISW. Less miles and a win.
