Very good question. The business man in me wonders this all the time. lol. Especially when its a midwestern driver and he's racing in california, Florida, or even in New Jersey like this week.

Josh lives at home and works two jobs;whatever the car makes covers the pit passes and what is left goes in the bank for the next week. When Josh drives the #56 of Mark and Gina Batchledor, Josh drives for free just to be able to race at some places we would normally not be able to race. We could not do this without the fans as there is a "pit fairy" out there that pays for Josh's pit pass. Also, selling t-shirts helps when a fan says keep the change. The sponsor money is gone by the time the season starts as it is used to freshen and buy new, most of our sponsors give us things like ice or dry clean uniforms, we have one that cuts our hair all year, it is also nice when somebody buys Taco Bell and tells you to keep the change.
