I am currently looking into purchasing a mini sprint to run next year and was wondering if anyone could offer any opinions on which manufacturer makes the best chassis for these cars or what is the popular choice among mini sprint cars in Indiana? Also, how old is too old and out of date? Thanks for your help

Larry Fosse makes a great car and he has helped us out continuously since my son started racing. Larry and his son Scott have been a great help in the garage and at the track. Whenever I need something Larry gets it for me.

They use Spike Chassis out of Indy.

FSC Chassis made by AJ Felker. He is out of Charleston, IN. Great car, built like a midget and holds up great. I have ran a couple of different cars and like his chassis the best. If you would like contact him you can reach him at 812-989-7050 and he will get back to you.

AJ is a good help with anyone that has one of his cars. Will do everything possible to help you to make sure you are happy with his cars.

If you have any other questions just let me know.

I've seen Henchcraft and FOZ chassis get the best finishes. But it's all driver. ERC is a very good chassis too, easy to set up and drive.

You should go to Lawrenceburg this weekend. Walk around the pits, and look at the cars. Talk to the drivers and owners, get their opinions. There are a lot of things that come into play when picking a car. How easy they are to work on, car weight, driver size, and how fast can you get replacement parts.

The FOZ car that larry at speed partz sells is a good car and he is close when you need parts, He is a great guy to do business with my dad has one of his cars and it has been a great car and we deal with larry all the time. My dads car is for sale and will be a L-Burg this weekend my youngest brother will be driving it but it is for sale and comes with some spare parts. And believe it when people tell you its really the driver that makes a car get around the track but setup is a big part as well. As far as what year a chassis is isnt that big a deal as long as its been taken care of. I ran a 1998 bailey last year and won 3 features with it so chassis age isnt that big a deal it just depends on what you want to spend on a car.

I couldn't agree more with walking around the pits and looking at cars. We are all going to have our preference on which chassis is best. I also agree with age doesn't matter as much as long as the car is taken care of. Just look it over for bends or parts of the chassis that have been welded. Even a 2010 will bend if its wrecked hard enough. If its your first time in Mini Sprints I would look for something dependable that you are going to be able to make laps in. Then as you get more comfortable you can upgrade as you seem fit. All in all you won't find better people in racing than you'll find in mini sprints.

Everyone is gonna tell you the car they have is better, whether it is or not. I've pretty much driven them all, Bailey, ERC, FOZ, and Henchcraft, and 100% honest, there is not much of a difference in any of them. Getting the right setup, engine, and driver combination will make any of the cars go fast.
Main thing to worry about is getting a strong, safe, structurally sound car. If it has been fixed, find out if it has been fixed correctly.

Now for the big Mini-Sprint question......will there be racing on Saturday or will Mother Nature strike again?
