A few rule changes for MSCS in 2010

"Three rules have notable changes. One change is that MSCS will be using RACEceivers in 2010 to communicate with the drivers on the track. With RACEceivers required and in use, line-ups on the track should be completed quickly and safety issues relayed to drivers more effectively.
Another change relates to the feature line-up. This season the winner and the runner-up from each qualifying heat will be lined up for the feature using the lowest number of the second pill draw. The change affords drivers further back in the heat race field the added opportunity to start on the pole of the feature. It could also double the excitement for the fans in attendance." Those are good changes, especially adding the 2nd place car to the draw. I do think, however, a change in format is needed, especially after that Bloomington race last year. You draw to start the back of your heat when there is a large car count and you just about may as well load it in the trailer. There needs to be a passing point system and reward guys for passing cars rather than starting on the pole of the heat. But as I said, allowing the 2nd place car to draw is a step in the right direction.

I think the RACEceivers will help move the program along. Good move. I wish more local tracks would use these also.

Raceceivers are good idea but what frequency are you going to use ? USAC has one and LBurg has another . everyone needs to get on the same as Receivers cost money.

The ones they are using have almost thousands of frequencies to pick from, there should be no problem changing for the different tracks or organizations. We have used the Bearcat 25 for years, it is programmable within reason. Bob

Nothing wrong with pill draws makes it exciting for the fans to watch the only way they can improve this is to use the sprint bandit format then who ever starts on the front row will have earned it racing with everyone else all night.
