I seen this on another Message Board
__________________________________________________ My understanding is the new folks at USAC attended the "Midget Forum" at the Chili Bowl this year. I think that is just a group of reps from all the sanctioning bodies that try to get together once a year there to "try" to achieve some similarity in rules from group to group. I was told that the new USAC president said they do not believe in co-sanctions and will NOT worry about scheduling their events to conflict with other sanctions. I guess that doesn't seem like a "new and improved" attitude. Like it or not, whats good for Badger is good for POWRI, is good for Ozark etc etc. And if USAC believes they can negatively impact on the various sanctions and be better for it I just do not understand. __________________________________________________ _______ Does anybody know if this is true or not? |

I heard that rumor. I think it was started by Bill Clinton in an effort to discredit Barak, oops, I'm on the wrong website.
 Surely the new regime at USAC is smarter that this rumor would indicate. |

Fred, Email them and ask for yourself. I had an issue I was concerned about and emailed Kevin Miller and Jason Smith and Kevin promptly replied with an answer the next morning.:thumb:

My 2 cents.
My guess is that they meant they can't worry about what other clubs are doing. Will they INTENTIONALLY schedule against ther clubs just to hurt the other club..I doubt it. If they have the oppotunity to schedule a race and there is a conflict..so be it. USAC sounds like their ready to operate more like a self promoting profitable business. That means they may be competing like any other business. Should they schedule against another known major race? The nice answer is no. The reality may be that they have to look at this different now. If we look back in a couple years and thay have grown car counts, purses, and fan base, they will have had a good business plan. "Clubs" are just that, clubs. |

2 more cents.
The weakness of Badger's current 08 schedule sure can't be blamed on USAC. Badger and Powri against each other 3/29/08. |

UMARA will have their banquet this Sat. Jan. 26th. We are supposed to be receiving the 2008 schedule at that time. I am led to believe we will be co-sanctioning with the USAC regional series seeing as how they have 3 dates already on their schedule for Grundy County which is UMARA's home track.
I have also been led to believe that UMARA will co-sanction atleast the Rockford race in May with the USAC National series. That one I will be able to update here on Sunday morning. Past years have shown that USAC relies on cars from other groups to help with their car count and if they don't believe that, they have their heads stuck in mudd someplace. |
