I go to a lot of races every year, spend time in the pit area and in the stands. But the only races I've been to where the've needed a lot of security because of things that have happened on the track is the UMRA TQ races. Some of those boys are not nice. If you've attended there races a lot of the spectaters head to the pits after the race to see what will happen. It's great fun but if your like me you'll keep a low profile. IT'S BEST!

I have worked in many fasets of racing including seeing it from the track side. While working on teh track side we had Sheriffs there to have a police presence but they did not handle issues unless they were directly needed.

My belief with security was if drivers are going to yell at each other in the pits let them be and just stand back and make sure it does not go past that. If they are going to yell at each other on the front strech after the race they need to be fined because children and familys do not need to see that and hear that language. If a fight breaks out then drivers need to be fined and suspended and if a driver goes into another teams pit with intention of fighting (and not just yelling and having words) then the fines and suspension reflect that action

I didn't see much of that last year. I think the not so nice ones are too old to race.

Now everytime I've been to TwinCities there's been a fight with the deputies running. I saw several on the front stretch and I had to cover my children's ears and eyes.

All kidding aside, I think in the last few years the UMRA has been run by a great group and the riff-raff are being weeded out.
