I have a question for all you old timers! Has anyone ever tried to to schsedule late Febuary and March Sat,Sun. day racing to just see if it would draw fans and cars to make it worth while? They do it in PA all the time why cant it be done here? Yea they get rained out and snowed out alot but you can still get some good weekends especially during the day to do this. It would be great to see Lawrenceburg or gas city try a couple dates.

As tough as the economy is, I doubt anyone is willing to take such a substantial financial risk

Twin Cities has had a good crowd for their march race the past couple years.

Cowtown Speedway has the February Fast 50. It was too cold for me this past year though. But as you suggest there are a number of days even in the winter time that would be nice enough for racing.

While not sprint cars (kind of a alien thing here in the Houston area) we have two big three day modified shows in the next couple of weeks. This week, Thursday through Saturday, USMTS at Battleground Speedway and then again on the first week of December at Houston Raceway Park. Last year's show at HRP drew over 95 modifieds for each day. Each day is also stand alone, no prequalifying for the following night. The purse does increase each night, though. I imagine that Paul White will be here in both a modified and a limited modified, driving for Jim Chapman's Dust Devil Race Car team. They had over 70 limiteds each night at HRP last year, too.

I am seriously considering making that race. I've got tickets.
