In the past and reconfirmed by Billy P. today, that the point fund money was recieved with the LPS Tax form and a points check included . This has been coming in the mail in Jan. the past few years.
With the change in management I'm sure there will be some confusion. Spiker is going to make some calls and he has said that he will try to make Monday nights show to address this.

As per my own conversation with Steve from Spiker's office on Thursday, I asked when we might be getting our money from the points fund. I was told "there is no points fund, and there is no intention of paying one out this year". I told him that will make several people very unhappy, and that you will probably be getting quite a few phone calls. After this conversation, there have been several people stating different things, including that there was a deal between Mr. Allison and Mr. Spiker that Mr. Allison would pay the points fund, while Mr. Spiker was to pay for the year end bonfire bash and trophy's.

Spiker promotions is responsible for day to day operations of LPS, and, if there is agreement between Mr. Allison and Mr. Spiker then that's fine. However, we as the racers, who supported LPS every single week, should not have to chase any points fund money due to us. I just want to know the truth, whether the points fund will be paid, and when. If the points fund money is going to be paid, then Spiker's front office management should be made aware of this, which would stop the speculation that the points fund wouldn't be paid out.

It has paid $1200 to win the last 2 years to Billy, that is a fact and the rest of the payout is like a regular night's race, and it was paid late in the year. I don't care what Justin Marvel got in whatever year that was. I am dealing with Spiker Promotions in 2009. When you buy, lease, and take over the day to day running of a company, as they have, you are responsible for the assets and liabilities of that company. I asked Spiker at the pit meeting when they introduced him as the new man in charge of LPS and I quote "there will be no changes this year and everything will remain the same for the rest of the year". The people in the top 10 at LPS are just plain old blue collar 40hrs a week working people and put their heart and soul into racing and deserve to be paid for supporting LPS all year. Spiker promotions used the points fund to his advantage having a double points race and adding a race to make sure people showed up, so he needs to pay us. If he has a deal with Allison that is between those 2 parties and I don't care, but the person who now is in charge of LPS needs to pay up. Thanks Steve Phillips, 2009 LPS champion car owner

Since no one else seems to want to just pick up the phone and call for answers about the points fund, here's what I found out when I did call.

Spiker and Allison are both responsible (as per the lease agreement) for the points fund. Allison will pay his portion, which is about 2/3 because that's how many races he ran, when the 1099's go out as always. Spikers portion, you'll need to contact him to see when he plans to pay what he owes the racers.

I guess it depends on who you talk to on any given day. You can see WE DID call Spiker's office (see posts above), and got different answers than others. It would be nice if Mr. Spiker and Mr. Allison would just post on here the REAL story from both, then all this speculation would go away. What a concept!

I understand your frustrations Grumpy Racer. What I posted was straight from Mr. Allison, and he wrote the lease agreement, so I guess the issue will be with Mr. Spiker.
