Cowtown Sprint Nationals Entries Blast By ‘60’, Pre-Entry Deadline 10/4
Kennedale TX (9/30/09) by DarinShort.com. With the event date of October 9-10 just over a week out, the sprint car early entry list is now in excess of 60 for the Cowtown Sprint Nationals (CSN) presented by ShopTheBoss.com and Lone Star Speedway. The $85,000 event is set for October 9-10 at Cowtown Speedway and features the stars and cars of the ASCS Lone Star, Gulf South and Sooner regions. Plus, ten of the Lucas Oil National ASCS Sprint Series drivers have entered, as their schedule is ‘off’ that weekend. And there are also six ‘invading’ drivers pre-entered, which will add more spice to the mix. Driver entries from 12 states have been received; now expanding from Pittsboro Indiana to Snohomish Washington, to Los Lunas New Mexico to Thibodaux Louisiana – and many points in between. It’s very important that drivers pre-register for this event on or before October 4th, as it reserves them a pit space and helps the race track put together the jigsaw puzzle of large tow rigs in the pit area; and helps the announcers to keep fans better informed. Premium spots in the pits are nearly gone, and phone in reservations are not accepted. Only drivers that are pre-registered will be assigned pit space. Those spaces will be staked with the driver’s name on them on practice night, October 8thor when they arrive on October 9th for the opening night. Drivers not pre-registering will be parked wherever the track deems best on race night, so it can best assemble the ‘jigsaw’ puzzle of assorted tow rig and trailer sizes. Also teams competing in the Topless 100 for Modifieds, Topless Limited Modifieds and Winged 600 Championships should also continue to preregister. The early entry deadline for those divisions saves $25 and that promotion expires on October 4th. To pre-enter, please go to http://www.CowtownSpeedway.com then click on the “Nationals” link on the home page. Scroll down the Nationals page and there you will see the quick, 2-step registration process. The cutoff for preregistration is October 4. At that point, the pit parking chart will go from ‘penciled’ in to ‘inked.’ The track is expecting a field of 70-80 sprint teams, and around 200 cars total by race time, which will make for a completely full pit area. Things keep looking better and better. I wouldn't miss this race for anything. In addition to lots of top line sprints, they will be running the topless modifieds and topless limited modifieds too. I don't know what it is but I REALLY like those cars without the tops. They are the same cars and same drivers, but to me they just look cool with the tops off. If it was just up to me they'd run that way all the time.
