Will be heading to Phoenix in about a week for vacation. Anyone know of any dirt tracks in the area that I could visit?

The site for USA Raceway (www.usaraceway.net) inTucson shows them still running. Looks like they have ASCS nonwing sprints for a big show October 10, with open practice the 9th, and another the 24th. Hope this helps.

Hacksaw,
Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, north of town, has two shows coming up. On Oct.3rd,the Arizona Sprint Car Assn.(360 Non-Wing) will be running with the Arizona Midget Racing Assn. On Oct.17th, the ASCA will be there along with the Arizona Modified Midget Assn.(600cc. Mini Sprints). Canyon is a high banked 3/8ths,located in some beautiful desert country, just south of Lake Pleasant. The sprinters usually have low to mid 14 sec.lap times, but in March of this year,I clocked Zach Sawyers at a 13.37! (in a heat race, not hot laps) Doug Gabbard, the promoter, has recently increased the Sprint Car payouts, and as a result, car count is up. G.A. is $15.00,and you can bring in your own beer (cans only). I know you'll enjoy either or both of these shows, hope to see you at the races!

Hacksaw, If you make it out to Canyon Speedway on October 17th stop by the #6, #9 or #61 Modified Midgets and say hello.
