I saw this on another board and thought it might be of interest to promoters and track prep people. I don't know anything about this product so don't take this as an endorsement. It is simply info. http://www.snisolutions.com/?id=products&cid=6

- MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE

I don't know for sure, but this might be the ingredient that is used.

There is no substitute for good track prep...

Just like promoting, most (not all) track owners are just too damn lazy these days to put in the effort and money, to do either correct.

I wish all the ohio tracks would use the Lily Rotella tool that Haubstadt uses to break up the crust on top of track after sheepsfooting. Especially Skyline-man that place is like a sheet of ice from top to bottom. No dust, and plenty of water underneath, but that smooth, red clay just seals over easy. With the winged 410's, several of us broke the track record back in July one night when the track was actually really good-I think it's at 10.49 seconds. The last several shows of the year, we were qualifying @ mid-12 to 13 second laps...it was that slick. Makes me sick having to race on a track like that. I don't mind slick in the middle, but when there's no cushion whatsoever and no tackiness even on the bottom, it sucks. My right foot isn't that smart.

Haubstadt mixes organic matter into their clay to help hold in the mosture. It is something that Tom has come up with. The track prep there is the best in the country for my money. :Steer

They say that their solution is organic in nature. Magnesium chloride is inorganic.

In my opinion they spend to much time messing with the track.

Bloomington can run all night with no additional track prep and it does not get near as dusty as Tri-State.

The last three ISW races were so dusty you could not see the cars, in fact people were trying to see which way the wind would blow so they would know which side of the track to sit .

July was my last trip to Tri-State. Having to sit through hours of track prep and still get a dusty track is not my idea of good racing or a good time.

Uh, oh....now you've gone and done it Dyno Don. Stand by for a stern lecture from Jerry Shaw (and others). :wink1::emote20::wink1:
