USAC tire rule for ORP ?

The entry form for champ cars list 2050 for the right front, but some ran a M 60. These tires are the same compound.only thing is the 2050 is a old tire made for the PRA 3 years ago.so the new M 60 is a better tire.
Now is this fair that some was allowed to run the M 60 when the entry form did not list the M 60 tire.and USAC did not tell every body about the use of the M 60 tire.now the top 2 cars was on a M 60.the reasoning was they ran out of the 2050 tire.now do you think these big teams waited till race day to buy their tires.no way!!! I would like to hear what every body thinks about this problem. |

I'm just glad that they're all gone now. The entry for Newton says 2015/2050 across the front, but there are none to be seen at Hoosier. I really do think that they/we finally used 'em all up. I didn't know 'til today that the "20series" were all so old. I thought they were still in production. Either way, it's gonna be M10/M60 at Newton.
I do think that the Santos' buy their tires at the track just before the race, but I find it highly unlikely that Bob East does. |
