As a reader, I can't count the number times that I've been a beneficiary of Dave's special ability to paint a picture with words or take thoughts and really bring them to life, in printed pages. This article was another excellent example of that gift. In this eulogy of a man that he obviously knew very well and cared very much for, Dave confirmed what everybody that ever met Larry Rice in the pits or was a fan of his on "Thunder" already knew in their heart. That even though this guy was a pit bull of a competitor on the track, off of the track or in the announcer's booth he was a kind, decent, sometimes self deprecating and humble man. And it wasn't an act. That's just who he was.
In this article, Dave recalled seeing Larry work and thinking that he was a genius. Coming from Dave Argabright, that's like like being genius squared. Jerry
