Take 57 up to Washington, turn rt on 50 straight over to 37, follow 37n into south of Bloomington. you will see the Bloomington speedway sign on the rt! 2hrs20min. Police not bad, maybe a few on 37.

That's the route I take. It's about as good as any.

This is the route that Steve Kinser travels. He says he saves time because the road is straighter & less hills & curves than taking Rt 50 into Bedford.
Traveling east on Rt 50 From Washington, turn left in Loogottee on 231N/IN45 for 26mi straight to go onto IN-58 (Sign says to Bedford)7.7mi, Turn right onto IN-54/IN-58 for 5.3mi then turn left onto IN37N and you are then 12.5 from the Bloomington Speedway. You will see the sign on the right on IN-37 to S. Walnut St then turn Right onto Fairfax RD & Bloomington Speedway is on your left .04 mi.

I traveled this route the last two times I went to Bloomington, & Steve Kinser is correct , you can save time because of less hills & crooked roads.

I hope this helps

David,

I think I used that route a time or two, but I take the US50 to 37 route because I stop in Bedford to eat. My GPS tries to get me to take the route you mention.

This is the route that I use all the time. Seems to be the fastest route to me. It also depends on what construction is going on and who you get stuck behind. Either was is good though

You rarely see the police on Hwy 50. Hwy 37 is a speed trap every 5 miles. It starts 1 mile from the Jct of 50 & 37 near the White River bridge in front of the Ford dealership. Then you have to deal with Bedford cops for about the next 5 miles (they drive up and down the Hwy. drooling). Once you past the 5th street exit going down the hill the State police sit just across the Salt creek bridge behind the mound of dirt. Next up is just past the Needmore exit (you'll see a school on the left) as you start down the hill the road curves to the right and it's probably their favorite place. I'm sure the State has made close to a million dollars right there in the roads 35 year existence. You'll go up a long hill and the road again curves to the right, another trap awaits. Your usually ok after that until you reach the Monroe/Lawrence county line they sit on both sides. Next up is after you top the hill from the Lake Monroe exit. If they haven't gotten you yet they swoop in with their black helicopters and take you out with a missle.:2:

I would take the Steve Kinser route... no missles.
