3 Wide Life introduces newest member of team- Athena Barber

Charlotte, NC (May 26, 2009) – Asphalt or dirt? Open wheel or stock car? United States or… anywhere in the world? These are questions Robby Gordon does not need to ask. His answer would only be “Why not all of them?” The man has found success in everything he has driven and he still looks for new racing challenges everyday. That is good news for 3 Wide Life. Gordon invited cameras into his NASCAR Cup shop to show how he gets business done and a look at some of his other “toys.”

“It’s really cool,” said producer Greg Elmore, “to see a different side of a guy that not everyone gets to see. Sure he has his fans here in the US, but the guy is an international star. Fans in Europe, South America, Mexico and wherever, know him not from NASCAR, but by all the other things he does abroad. Hopefully we can shed a little light on all of his ‘hobbies.’”

Handling interview duties is Athena Barber, who was recently brought on board as a correspondent and contributor to 3 Wide Life. Barber will be featured throughout the season as she looks to “separate the posers from the real deal.”

“This is really exciting,” said Barber. “3 Wide Life focuses on the core of racing and I could not be happier to be a part of it. Racing is my life, and this gives me the opportunity to be around something that I love. Plus I get to share it with the fans and racers across the country.”

More to the story…

• Episode 7 synopsis … In addition to Robby Gordon, 3 Wide Life meets with Dale McDowell, late model driver for Clint Bowyer racing to learn about life on the road and racing for a superstar. Tony Rizzuti talks to Tom Pistone about break bias inside the Circle Track Tech Zone and Shane Hmiel travels to INDY for the “Night Before the 500” USAC midget race. Host Brittney Cason gives a tour of NASCAR’s oldest sanctioned weekly race track – Bowman Gray Stadium.
