Seems to pretty On Topic for me. Especially with one or our sprint car hero's driving one of the cars.

Hell of a lot more on topic than Illinois late model race schedules.

So, if all goes well, there should be FOUR guys in the field with front engine OW car experience. We should take it for what it is. We can all hope for more, & guys like Larson need to run these cars more than once a year (hope he proves me wrong on raceday, I think he could very well run top 5; but even Tony admitted over 20years ago just getting in for the one race a year, he didn't think he could win it). Either way, it's cool and great to see! https://www.thethirdturn.com/wiki/Ed_Carpenter

I miss bump day action at Indy. What I wouldn't give to see 40 cars entered.

Well, there is 34. lol. Iiwii. Roger and the other owners don't wana be knocked out (I think I read if you aren't a full-time team, it's only around $100,000 to start the race now...that's how they are controlling it...). Thankfully no one is officially locked in, this year.
They say the engine OEMs won't supply more than just a couple more engines; and I think $ is tightening up in many areas of racing (17 Silver Crowns entered for the postponed Winchester race...). Legge took her $ to NASCAR (I suspect there wasn't a long line of Indycar teams looking to sign her)...was talk of a Tom Brady effort (not sure if there was a driver named for that), that went nowhere...this year anyway... The Indycar car count is about the strongest they have been in many years for the rest of the season at least. Time will tell if they can get 700,000-800,000 people watching Sunday in Alabama... I'm afraid if the ratings can't get up to maybe like one million (for the races outside of the 500) and once they introduce a stupid new chassis (this one is fine / safest ever) it will go back to where they barely even get 33 again. So, I'm gona enjoy it this year with 34...
