Although it's a very disappointing time for me when racing ends for the season (locally), I look back at the memories I made with my family, my friends, drivers, and history that was made knowing it was another great season and it will never be duplicated. April will be here before we know it. Lots of hunting, trapping, ice fishing ahead.

With that said I want to start with this. I am a regular regardless of what type of cars are racing at both Kokomo and GC. That's what I do in the offseason of hunting/trapping/ice fishing. That's my Friday nights and all nights in between that there is racing. I missed a combined 4 races the entire season between the 2 tracks. What that means for ones who dont understand, I support both tracks very very heavily. I buy my tickets/pit passes, I buy food, I buy drinks. I try to support other tracks as much as I can with my life and schedule, when I can.

Noone and nothing in life is perfect. I dont care who you are or who you think you are. I think Kokomo Speedway and its owners and promoters are the closest thing there is to a track being perfect every show, every night, every race, regardless of what type of cars are racing. Maybe I'm biased, maybe its bc I live within 2 miles of the track and have for all 40 years of my life, maybe its bc The O'Connor Family along with Funk got me back into racing in 2017 due to the business I own, but Kokomo Speedway is next to perfect to me. Thank you so much O'Connor Family for an outstanding season and everything you do for the fans, drivers, teams, sponsors, employees, and everyone else involved. Another outstanding successful year in my opinion.

Gas City...I along with lots of other people seen a ton of ups and downs all year long. Sadly towards the end of the season the crowd showed this was the case. Some teams and drivers quit coming bc of track conditions, some fans quit coming bc of multiple reasons, I constantly gave constructive criticism/tough love. Yep I sure did and I dont regret it. When improvements need made, they need said. I didnt give up or stop coming bc I love the place and it's my go to track as Kokomo doesnt run a weekly show/program. However, I will say thank you bc here towards the end of the season I did see improvements, things slightly got better in multiple aspects of the track and property. The James Dean Classic was next to perfect, this past weekend a 2 dayer, was next to perfect. Hopefully if positions stay the same for next year, this improvement at the end of the season shows and continues and GC goes back to being the GC it was prior to this year. All in all, thank you for another great season of racing and everything you do for the fans, teams, drivers, sponsors, employees, and everyone else involved.

One last thing as I forgot to put it in the "post subject". For me, a big big shout out and thank you goes to the Lawrenceburg Fire & Safety Crew. This team is constantly at races, especially at Kokomo, even when it's not a USAC show or race. They all pack in that truck, all the gear and equipment in the hauler, coming from the far Southeast corner of the State, gotta drive back home after a long dirty most nights hot night, regardless of weather they show up, generally first ones on scene of a crash or fire on the track. For all of you involved with this, thank you very very much, your efforts do not go unnoticed and you are much appreciated!!

As a person who travels from the East to both tracks a few times per year, I have to agree with your synopsis. Hopefully the up trend for GC towards what was going on last year continues. Kokomo is Kokomo. The OConners get it. Can’t wait to go back next year. Also well done by the safety team from Lawrenceburg.
