These rumors have been coming in and out of southern Illinois for years. Nothing but pipe dreams. Illini folks don't take this wrong, but I think that most of you will agree, that if a business does not involve meth manufacture in Southern Illinois, it ain't gonna make it.

U.S 41 and Interstate 64 have always provided an excellent conduit for illegal drug activity. Vincennes, Princeton and just about any spot in between were hot spots. 41 connects Chicago to Florida.
Pot in the '60s and '70s, cocaine in the '70s and '80s and meth in the '90s and '00s. And, probably moonshine in the '30s. Oh, when I visited my sister a few weeks ago, they eagerly told me that Dale Jr., and Tony Stewart had just been in town to buy Red Hill. I told them not to hold their breath. If Stewart had bought every track he's rumored to be buying, he'd be broke. Jim Morrison

I just moved from Carmi about 2 years ago now, which is about 10 minutes or so south of Grayville. I can't see it happening in that area unless the jail actually comes to fruition there to bring more income and jobs. Also, White County had done a pretty good job of cleaning up the meth labs, but I know other areas around were still issues.
