This is the payoff from last weekends IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Nationals. I've never seen the money distributed quite like this. It's a brilliant rule for all promoters, pay what ever you like to win as long as start money is half.
![]() ![]() A Feature Sprint Purse (Big Dance – Main Event): 1st $2,500, 2nd $2,400, 3rd $2,300, 4th $2,200, 5th $2,150, 6th $2,100, 7th $2,050, 8th $2,000, 9th $1,950, 10th $1,900, 11th $1,850, 12th $1,800, 13th $1,750, 14th $1,700, 15th $1,650, 16th $1,600, 17th $1,550, 18th $1,500, 19th $1,450, 20th $1,400, 21st $1,350, 22nd $1,300, 23rd-27th $1,250 Total Big Dance Purse: $46,700 |

Maybe some "Brainiac" on here can convert this to percentages per position that can be applied to any gross feature payout.

I am sure every promoter would do that if they could get that many cars for $2500 to win. Didn't they get 100 cars?

They had 115 cars from all over the country. Eagle Raceway is a bad-ass race track. Put it on your bucket list.

They used to have an annual modified race here in KC, (actually they are starting it again this year), that paid 5000 to win and 1000 to start. they had 10 heats both Friday and Saturday with only the winner getting locked in the the Main Saturday night. They had over 100 cars from all over the country for those 11 - 12 car $1000 to win heat races that you didn't have a prayer of winning unless you had a magic pill drawing hand.

Port Royal Speedway has their Blue Collar Classic – IMCA Keystone RaceSaver Interregional 305 Sprint Challenge coming up on Oct 7th. Last year the purse was posted at 15k.

Wouldn't mind seeing this at Bloomington for the Racesavers... Winner gets $600, I have not finished worse than 9th this year so I know ninth pays $180... I'm not complaining, but $300 to start would be a nice improvement!

Be careful what you wish for! I know several promoters from the past that would agree with you, but make it $100 to start and $200 to win! 🙁

It's been a while since I've had to bust out the dry erase board. It's not terribly difficult math. All you have to do is take the payout per position divided by total purse, then move the decimal 2 places to the right. Unless the percent was .009 I didn't round up. That's where the .08% shortage came from. All it takes is patients, lots, and lots, and lots of patients. Especially when you've got a 5 year old constantly asking "Casey, what're you doing?".
1st 2,500 = 5.35% 2nd 2,400 = 5.14% 3rd 2,300 = 4.92% 4th 2,200 = 4.71% 5th 2,150 = 4.60% 6th 2,100 = 4.50% 7th 2,050 = 4.39% 8th 2,000 = 4.28% 9th 1,950 = 4.17% 10th 1,900 = 4.07% 11th 1,850 = 3.96% 12th 1,800 = 3.85% 13th 1,750 = 3.74% 14th 1,700 = 3.64% 15th 1,650 = 3.53% 16th 1,600 = 3.42% 17th 1,550 = 3.32% 18th 1,500 = 3.21% 19th 1,450 = 3.10% 20th 1,400 = 3.00% 21st 1,350 = 2.89% 22nd 1,300 = 2.78% 23rd 1,250 = 2.67% 24th 1,250 = 2.67% 25th 1,250 = 2.67% 26th 1,250 = 2.67% 27th 1,250 = 2.67% Total %= 99.92%
