Find it a bit ironic and suprising, that according to the list above, the track that has the Rich Vogler Classic has never been the sight of one of his silver crown victories. I was curious if anyone might know, out of what I read was his 171 victories, what track was Rich most successful at? Thanks for any information

I don't know the answer but my guess is the Speedrome would be close to to top of the list.

I just got out my book "No Time for Yesterday, Rich Vogler: His Life from 1950-1990" to try to find the answer. It has his complete statistics, but it would take from now until a month from Sunday to arrive at an answer to your question because he was a prolific winner. Also, it lists every USAC race he ever entered, so deciphering wins from other finishes would be a mind boggling task. I would a agree with bgerster that the Speedrome would probably be close to the top of the list.
I was at Salem 27 years ago tomorrow when Rich drove his last race and looking at the book refreshed my memory of some of the details of that tragic evening. Don't know whether this book is still available or not, but if you were a Rich Vogler fan, you would definitely want to own it.

Shocking Rich didnt win there. Its still a great venue for the race. High profile race in Indy. Working with Niebel for years I got to watch Rich race a ton. He was truly one of the best

I'm sure he won there in midgets and sprints, but not the big cars. And both of you who mentioned the speedrome, thanks, I totally forgot about that place and your probably right. I watched him win everywhere it seems. I guess outside of the speedrome would be more my question.

I'm almost certain Rich had 13 wins at Terre Haute, all in USAC competition. I have no idea on other tracks though? Where's Roy Caruthers, bet he'd know the answer!

Checking USAC: 50 Years of Speed & Glory for the years 1984 & 1985 I came up with this info. The only wins listed for those seasons were in a midget, no sprint or silver crown wins.
33 TOTAL WINSOther than the two 50-lappers at Terre Haute in the Byrd 3, and the Phoenix win in the Wilke 11, all wins were in my dad's midget (74 in 1984, 1s in 1985). ![]()

I loved those cars, and Bob Lowe was a genius. I think 8 Of the wins at THAT we're in the Hut Hundred for Rich? He was so good everywhere he ran, theres no telling where he won the most. I'm with Gerster on the Speedrome being it most likely though.
