GEHRKE & STANFILL BRING USAC REGIONAL MIDGET TITLE FIGHT TO GAS CITY FRIDAY

Gas City, Indiana (October 21, 2021)………The 2021 USAC Midwest Regional Midget championship comes down to the final event on Friday night, October 22, with the Fall Festival of Speed at Indiana’s Gas City I-69 Speedway.

Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.) possesses a 50-point lead in the series standings over challenger Bryan Stanfill (Bakersfield, Calif.) entering the season’s final event.

While points will be up for grabs in both the heat races and the feature, regardless of what transpires, if Gehrke finishes 17th or better during the feature event, he will claim the series championship for the second consecutive season.

The two most recent USAC Midwest Regional Midget features held at Gas City in 2021 were won by Thomas Meseraull (San Jose, Calif.) in May and Chance Crum (Snohomish, Wash.) in July.

Gehrke finished 5th in each of those two feature events this season at the quarter-mile dirt oval while Stanfill finished 19th and 6th in his two outings.

An open Hoosier tire rule is in place for the event.* Cars must have a Hoosier tire on all four corners.

The event offers a $5,000-plus purse, paying $1,200 to win. *Bonus money ($100, $75 and $50) will be awarded to the top three USAC SpeeD2 midgets competing as well as mini-sprints.

The pit gate opens at 3pm ET with hot laps and group qualifying sessions beginning at 6:35pm for sprint cars followed by midgets. *Racing starts at 7:30 pm.

Adult general admission tickets are $20.* Admission for students is $15.* Kids 12 and under are free. *Pit passes are $35.
