Curly....You're pretty much rite on...anyone that has a CDL,or CDL manual can tell you bout this Reg.....Just like take'n the test for ur "HAZ" endorsement on the CDL....since 911,that test and background check is very costly and harder to get...but thats where the best pay'n jobs will be!!...I wonder what DAVE RUDISELL is think'n bout this deal??....Brucer'

Chuck if you would have had your seat belt on, then maybe the Ticket Natzi couldhave wrote a speeding ticket, but he was preoccupied with your infraction. See it never ends. Seat belt zones are federaly funded and have mandatory quotas, the only quotas that exist. Quotas are usually based on activity not tickets to head that arguement off.
I understand all that. Im just saying that something that might hurt only myself is far less dangerous than something that may be hurting others. Why don't they just pay the communities to put a couple extra cops on the streets instead of stupid quota based unimportant laws? You can still in most states drive a Motorcycle without a helmet. WHY? BEACUSE PEOPLE STOOD UP AND FOUGHT TO KEEP THE RIGHT THEY HAD.

Chuck, not denying he pulled me over for my (ILLEGAL ACTION) But thinks he would have still gone after another seat belt offender over someone doing 70 in a 40 because they are paid to enforce that law at that time and not ALL THE TIME.

INMHO the DOT deal is the same as the seatbelt law. Has NOTHING to do with anything other than ticket revenue for the state or county. The seatbelt deal was the worst I've heard of untill this DOT thing. Both laws are in my opinion an open door for the law to make legal searches. It's sad....I would love to know wich elected officials get up in the morning only to come up with these stupid ideas for new laws.

Chuck

I totally agree with your last post completely! Unfortunatley the smaller things are the most important in the eyes of the people who run this show.

Dont take this wrong, but I am on a bit of soap box today....We cant search your vehicle under seatbelt stops. Seatbelt stops you cant perform any type of Drug Interdiction actions on. You cant run a dog or anything on just a "Seatbelt" stop. Plain View does come into effect however, so hide your goods. And dont wear your seatbelt when you are carrying dope and try to obide by all the other 400(Just a guess, I want to say 293, but seems like there is more) and some traffic laws.

I apologize for being a little touchy today I am human.

If you obey the laws, whether you agree with them or not, you are extremely unlikey to be bothered by law officers.

Is that simple enough?

Very true.

The thing that always gets me about that is when you hear on the news that some moron transporting 397 pounds of reefer was caught because of speeding, expired plates, etc. I mean, come on. It's common sense.

Granted I went to my car often when ever there was down time or a class I did not want to see and because you could not carry beer in to the track. I park close to the front gate for this very reason.

Here is the topper. As I was going to my car for a cold beer my name and licesne plate number was announce over the PA. I thought someone had hit my car. When I arrived there was 3 cops standing next to my car and they asked me how I got there so fast. I told them I was already on my way because of lack of action on the track.

They asked me what I had in my trunk, as their dope dog got a hit on my car. I told them, BEER. They laughed, and asked to search my trunk. I said have at it, but let me get a beer first. I got my beer.

They searched my trunk,my girl friends purse, my cooler and my trash bag that I use to keep my trash in. But what was funny, they did not look in my car or into the folding chairs in a bag I had in the back of the trunk.

I think this was a scam to find some minor infraction that they could sight one for. When they ran my plate, they knew right then I was clean with no record, why the harssment? It is a money game. Like The ' Burg has not got enought money from the casino.

If they were really looking for drugs, I would think the parking garage at The Casino would be a better place to look.

If this kind of police harassment keeps up, I can see the L'Burg Speeedway going down the tubes.

I have second thoughts about going back.
See, if you had stayed and watched the street stocks, none of this would have ever happened.

EXACTLY. If they are told to go after totter homes it don't matter if that semi next to you 10 grand overweight is doing, they are targeting you.

Lord help ya if you got a drum of fuel and don't have Haz mat.

Chuck, saying they all have 400 gallons worth of diesel aboard but don't need it for that. Just screwed up system and don't even get into roadblocks that they have no right to assume your drunk with no reasonable cause to check you for more than DUI.
