THE ACTION AT TERRE HAUTE IS IN SOLID HANDS FOR YEARS TO COME!

The legendary Terre Haute Action Track will be under solid care for multiple years with Illinois based race organizers Bob Sargent and the O’Connor Family, whose promotions have involved some of auto racing’s most storied venues in recent years. These two veteran promoters are once again teamed up to preserve the heritage and future of one of the sport’s most revered race tracks. The track will be under the promotional guidance of Bob Sargent and Reece O’Connor who have teamed together to create Terre Haute Motorsports. Many special events are planned and fans are encouraged to watch the media and coming websites for more information.

The Wabash Valley Fair Association and Terre Haute Motorsports have entered into a multi-year agreement for the operation of the Terre Haute Action Track racing activities. “We are pleased to have Bob and Reece as the promoters for racing at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. The Terre Haute Action Track is going to be the place to come for great racing for years to come with them as our promoters. We welcome them and look forward to a great relationship.” Said Jennifer Cook, Wabash Valley Fair Association President.

Sargent and Track Enterprises, whose promotions have included numerous USAC spectaculars, are involved at Illinois tracks like the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, the DuQuoin, Illinois State Fairgrounds and Macon Speedway, while the O’Connor Family operates the legendary Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. The promotional duo has exhibited track preparation skills which will ensure continued spectacular racing at the half-mile dirt Terre Haute oval.

The legendary speedway will feature the return of traditional events such as USAC's “Don Smith Classic” Sprint Week race, “Tony Hulman Classic” sprint race, “Jim Hurtubise Classic” sprint race and “Sumar Classic” Silver Crown Championship race. The MSCS and KISS Sprint Cars will make a return appearance to the schedule this year as well. The track will host multiple NASCAR stars behind the wheels of their UMP modifieds on NASCAR night in June. The UMP Summernationals Tour will stop in July featuring the arrival of the ground pounding Late Models to the speedway after a lengthy hiatus.

More information about the promotional efforts at Terre Haute and 2012 racing schedules for both groups can be found on the following websites:
www.trackenterprises.com and www.kokomospeedway.net . A brand new Terre Haute Action Track website can be found at www.terrehauteactiontrack.net and will be updated with all the exciting information of the upcoming season.

This is GREAT news. Won't be able to make any week day shows, but will try my best to make it to all the weekend shows.

This is great news, indeed.

This schedule will work out really good for us personally. We'll be on our way to Indy for the Hulman Classic where they'll run e-mods as an undercard. We'll have the camper there so it won't matter if it takes and hour and a half to run the e-mod feature.

On the same token there won't be any undercard for ISW which is good news since we will be driving home after the show that night. We'll be in Du Quoin for the Sept. 1st show and harvest will be in full swing in October so the extended show won't be a factor in those deals.

With Sarge as a major player in this deal I'm surprised there isn't three or four undercard classes.

Hopefully this partnership will quell any more speculation that THAT will cease to exist. Hopefully it will be a success for all involved!!

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

Boo modifieds. Yaa everything else. At least no support class for sprint week. I wish them prosperity and will attend as many as I can.

Great news! The right people and they get a multi-year contract. I firmly believe that they can lead the Terre Haute Action Track to new glory days.

The first night that the Sprint feature lasts longer than the Modified feature, I want to see someone on here saying "hello pot...im kettle"

But in serious business, this can only get better in the years to come.

We wont know how long the mod feature lasted because most of us will be on our way home when it is running
