it was on this day, July 13th 1993 that Davey Allison was tragically killed in a helicopter crash while attempting to land at Talladega Motor Speedway. I often wonder what he could have done in NASCAR if he had lived.....

I remember this well.

But I didn't realize that it was July 13th.

That is also my late sons birthday.

He was great he was my first Favorite NASCAR driver when I was young it was and still is a very sad Loss! I agree I often wonder how many Championships he would have if he were still here I would guess at least 4!

Rest in peace Davey!

Davey was my favorite Cup driver as well and I was crushed when I heard that he had passed away from his injuries in that copter crash. Just a tragic event. The racing world also lost Alan Kulwicki earlier that year as well.

Yes there is no telling what Davey could have accomplised had he lived.

Imagine how different the NASCAR history books would read if these drivers were still with us:

Davey Allison
Alan Kulwicki
Tim Richmond
Rich Vogler
Adam Petty
Kenny Irwin Jr
