If you guys aren't racing this weekend and you have a few cars that would pass tec, it would be neat to see some of that "Buckey High Tec Race Iron" come down and help being that track record down for mini sprints so we could be the second fastest class at Brownstown Speedway.

If it weren't for guys like Allen Ruppenthal, Bill May and Jerry Teague the class you are racing in right now probably would not exist. They nurtured it when it was young, stood by it when it got weak and brought it back to life as we know it today.

Since Jerry and Allen both worked together for years bringing the Mini Sprints back to life, it would also be nice also to see Jerry at Brownstown to honor an old friend.

Question?

Do you guys know who introduced Mini Sprint racing to Waynesfield Raceway Park? What was the name of the group, and when did they do it?

We ain't the high tec racers down here, but we would love to come up sometimes and race and watch how you hi tec northern racer guys do things.

We have been up their 4 times I guess. Three times at the small track, heck we even had a bill board there at the little track, don't think we sold too many mufflers off of it but hey you never know.

The last race on the small track was in October one year got up there and had 2 inches of snow on the ground, that is about 5 hours from L'ville with our rig.

The last time we were up there was the first year of the big track I think. We blew a trailer tire going up, Allen loaned us his trailer spare to get home on. We won our heat and was in line for the dash for cash and the skies opened up. Gasoline was only about $2.00 a gallon then.

The people up there were super nice and if we could work out a deal to trailer up there with somebody else we would sure give it a try but not in October.

They actually had a track outside Ada, Ohio right off of 309 back in the late 80's then Limaland ran some mini sprints also around that time.
