My favorite event of all time set to renew for the 40th time this Friday. Plenty of great memories from this event and hoping to make some more this weekend. Having the good fortune of my Dad taking us to Eldora for the first time in the mid 70’s, we’ve been lucky enough to see all the different nuances that have come and gone in over 4 decades of making the trip. There’s things to be critical of in my opinion, but I fell in love with the canyon in a cornfield a long time ago and I still get a special feeling every time I pull up on state highway 118. Having Dad pass away in May, this will be a bit more emotional than normal. In spite of the fact he hasn’t been in a few years we would always have to report in and give him a complete rundown Sunday evening. Another thing we started last year and we’re going to do it again this year is a toast to our old buddy Cigar Dave. Man I miss that guy. If anyone wants to have a toast and maybe tell your favorite Dave story, come join us. I’ll post later on time and location. I hope everyone can make it to the track. And those that can’t I hope are enjoying it on Flo. We actually might have a couple suite tickets available if anyone has any interest, they come complete with sometimes rowdy race fans. DM if you are. See you all at the track

Planning on Gas City Thursday and then over to Eldora. The weather looks favorable.

Wish I could hit gas city to start the weekend, but I’ll have to settle for Friday. I’ll be camping in the eldora village if anyone wants to meet for a frosty adult beverage or two!

Have a great time. Had my knee replaced on 8/18 which put an end to my attending races for 2022 I am afraid. Missed the Smackdown and I have been to many of these.

I am leery of the 4 crown as the last time I went I left at 1am to drive back to Indy never seeing a race!

I think he'll be there in one way shape, form, or spirit.

The final race of the night (Silver Crown) checkered at 12:05am Eastern in 2021.

I think he’s talking about one of the years there was a huge rain delay and the decision wasn’t made until really late. I don’t think he was referring to last year
