What size would it be? - Take Macon in Illinois, just make it as wide as Ventura.

Dirt or pave? - Dirt.

Which state or country would you build your track? - Little bit north of Westfield, IN RIGHT OFF US 31, as in the entrance is on 31.

Pits in the middle of the track or the outside of the track? - Outside.

Stands all the way around the track? - Frontstretch, and backstretch.

would you have walls all the way around the track? - Yes, with a big ol catchfence.

What kind of cars would you have run there? - Non-wing sprints, 600cc micros, Modifieds, and then run Midgets once a month, along with Late Models once a month.

And what would you name your track? - Depends on who wants to pay the money to build it.

What size would it be?
Half mile.
Dirt or pave?
Dirt.
Which state or country would you build your track?
Indiana.
Pits in the middle of the track or the outside of the track?
On the front stretch.
Stands all the way around the track?
On the front stretch.
Would you have walls all the way around the track?
Yes.
What kind of cars would you have run there?
Sprints, Midgets, Silver Crown and an occasional Late Model show.
And what would you name your track?
The Terre Haute Action Track. I wouldn't spend the money on building a new facility. I would spend it on importing the finest new clay money could buy, for the famed half mile oval and having DHK Promotions pay Tommy Helfrich enough to make it worth his while, to prep the track his way.

What size would it be? 1/2 Mile, Eldora banking

Dirt or pave? Something interesting Turns 1&2 dirt, turns 3&4 pavement (I know unrealistic)

Which state or country would you build your track? Indiana

Pits in the middle of the track or the outside of the track? Middle

Stands all the way around the track? Yes, so the dirt fans can see their action and the pavement people can see straight line racing

would you have walls all the way around the track? I think it would be better than the fans stopping the cars.

What kind of cars would you have run there? Anyone that wants to run

And what would you name your track? I am sure some people could come up with a good name for the track

If I could make a second track, I would recreate Langhorne but smaller. I am only 26 so I never got to see racing there, but it sounded very interesting. I think it would be great with the newer cars and improved safety.

3/8 MILE LOTS OF RED CLAY,i.e. BLOOMINGTON IN. ANYWHERE I COULD DRAW A GREAT FAN BASE IN THE MIDWEST. PITS IN THE MIDDLE, NO HAULERS. START OUT WITH FRONT AND BACKSTRETCH,ALSO PARKING ON BOTH SIDES,i.e. HAUBSTAUT IN. ALL WAY AROUND, BUT SAFER WALLS. SPRINTS, MODIFIEDS WEEKLY, MIDGETS, SILVER CROWN,LATE MODELS AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT PUTS ON A GOOD SHOW FOR THE FANS. ANYTHING THAT WOULD HELP DRAW FANS.

I like these threads Devin.

Size: How about 7/16, about like PAS
Dirt, of course.
Location: Illinois, got a spot picked out north of Springfield where there is a natural bowl shape with a little earth moving.
Pits: Outside the track. I like the grass infields like THAT for fans.
Stands:Frontstretch
Walls:More of a Berm around the corners, with a catch fence farther out.
Cars:Special events, mostly open wheel, mostly non wing, but whatever draws fans
Name:Sangamon Speedway(Sangamon county)

It would take a major lottery win, but hey, a guy can dream.

Hey, Spfldmile, I like it. That would be a great attraction. Good luck on the lottery.

I would build a 1/3 semi-banked red clay paper clip shape track with distinct straightaways. I would love to pit the cars in the infield but no haulers and only have seats on both the front and back stretch. I would have walls but have plenty of room to race. I would call the track "Red Clay Speedway" I would run a weekly show of non-wing sprints & midgets. The track would be located in Bloomington but run on Saturday nights so it doesn't conflict with Bloomington Speedway on Friday nights.

Frank, I liked yours too. I don't think the city "fathers" would ever let someone build a track that close to residential areas again, but I sure would love to watch one more race at Joe's.
