With temps in the 50's by a-main time the Weld Family Memorial Race for the Wingless Auto Racing sprints was highly anticipated by a very good crowd on hand at valley Speedway in Grain Valley MO.

With 32 sprints in attendance and 4 classes running on the program the track was a dry slick by race time, everyone knew tire wear would be a big concern for race teams as well as hitting your marks on each and every lap. Early leader Chris Parkinson would find out early that missing his mark would cost him his lead to eventual winner J. D. Black.

One final note, Black under WAR Rules was running a 305 C. I. motor while other racers were running 360's and 410's. Once again slower may be faster especially on a dry slick track.

This is a full show for the WAR sprints but still just 31:00 minutes. Open wheel enthusiasts you are up for the Weld Family Memorial with the WAR Sprints at Valley Speedway, I think Pappy would be proud of the nights results in their name. Enjoy.
