HEATED BATTLE FOR USAC DIRT DRAFT HOT LAP TITLES RAGE INTO OCTOBER

By: Richie Murray – USAC Media

Speedway, Indiana (October 4, 2022)………Mitchel Moles’ Rookie season in the USAC national ranks has been impressive with him displaying an enormous amount of speed and success as a multi-time feature winner in both the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Midget Championship and the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship.

And, as it turns out, he has a prowess for going fast in hot laps too!

The Raisin City, Calif. native has recorded a series high seven Dirt Draft fastest hot lap times throughout the USAC national season entering the month of October.

However, instead of overall, it’s the top driver in each of USAC’s three national divisions who earns the year-end bonus.

When broken down by series, Moles shares the number one spot atop the USAC National Sprint Car sector of the Dirt Draft points with five fastest hot lap times alongside Chase Stockon (Fort Branch, Ind.).* Kody Swanson (Kingsburg, Calif.) leads all USAC Silver Crown drivers with five.* Meanwhile, Justin Grant (Ione, Calif.) and Cannon McIntosh (Bixby, Okla.) are knotted up in the USAC National Midgets with three apiece.

Next up on the USAC calendar are a pair of National Midget outings this weekend, Friday, October 7, in the 9th running of the Peoples National Bank Jason Leffler Memorial at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, Ill. and on Saturday, October 8, in the Harvest Cup at Haubstadt, Indiana’s Tri-State Speedway.

Friday at Wayne City, the grandstands open at 5pm Central with the drivers meeting at 6pm and hot laps at 6:30pm with racing immediately following.* Adult general admission tickets are $30.* Kids 12 & under are free.* Pit passes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members.* Non-Wing Outlaw Micros, Restrictors and Junior Sprints will also be on hand.

Saturday at Tri-State, pits open at 3pm Central with grandstands opening at 4pm, the drivers meeting at 4:30pm and hot laps at 5:30pm with qualifying and racing immediately following.* Adult general admission tickets are $25, students aged 13-18 are $20 and kids aged 12 & under are free.* Pit passes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members.* Also racing at the Harvest Cup are the Midwest Sprint Car Series and the Midwest Mini Sprint Association.

Dirt Draft is the first & only fantasy racing app where you compete against fans from all over the world by choosing a team of five drivers for each USAC event.* Based on your drivers results for tonight’s event you are awarded points that you can then use for USAC Tickets, USAC Broadcasts, USAC Merchandise and much, much more!
