Rick Dawson talked about that on the usac racing show on racefanradio.com recently. I listened to the replay of it last night since I missed the live show and Rick spoke of the usac affiliation with the little 500. I don't recall him actually using the word "sanction" but it was getting late for me too.

I can't wait till the Little 500; we had an absolute blast down in Florida at the 400 lapper. Hopefully luck will be on our side at Anderson like it was in Florida too.

DON'T worry, the backwards dates on things confused me as well as another Anderson 400 event on their schedule.

Will be a big workout for pavement cars that week with the midgets at the ORP on the Thursday before M400 qualifying on the Friday and the race Saturday!
The midget 400 is 10 days before the start of IMW.

Would this mean that USAC rules are used even though it doesn't award points?

USAC has "Sanctioned" this event before.

I do not understand the connection. A lot of the cars would not meet todays spec's. They have roadsters and V6's which no longer are legal in USAC.

What is the benefit for Anderson Speedway to have USAC involved?

Is it cheaper to use USAC officals, timing and scoring than to use your own people? I would think that would be the only advantage.

No the races will still be under Anderson Speedway control the roadsters are no longer allowed in the Little 500 but u can run the V6 you can also run them in national usac races you just have to add more weight. This so called sanction is just to have the USAC banner on the races there is no sanctions of any sort.

Of the two or three Little 5's that they sanctioned in the past, I don't even recall ever seeing anyone from USAC at the track on raceday.
