Looks like they will be having an event on the UMP Summernationals tour this year.

Could lead to others I’m sure?

FWIW, Paducah Raceway was on the UMP SummerNationals schedule for 3 or 4 years when the gates were padlocked a few years ago. The race at Paducah never happened, ALTHOUGH it may this year. Paducah has been sold and is SUPPOSED to open in April or May and IS on the SummerNationals schedule for 2022. Point is….just because it is on the schedule doesn’t mean the track is operating.

Red Hill Raceway (Sumner, IL) – Dirt track racing in Sumner is back. So too are the Late Models and UMP Modifieds in the leadoff day of Week #3 on Tuesday, June 28.

Red Hill was purchased by Jeremy Sneed. He owns Wayne County Speedway and also promotes the indoor shows at DuQuoin

Midwest racing promoter Jeremy Sneed has purchased the 3/8-mile oval and will reopen the facility for racing for the first time since it was closed in 2005. Sneed has plans to make renovations to the facility including track surface work, lighting upgrades and improvements to the guardrails and fencing, among others. A working schedule, which consists of multiple race days and practice sessions, is in the plans for the 2022 regular season.

The Hell Tour has two visits to Red Hill in its history – the first in 1998, won by Rick Aukland, and another in 2000, won by two-time tour champion Bob Pierce.

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

Red Hill is a nice track, I raced there some and it is about time someone started some racing at Red Hill. The last owner went crazy with concrete blocks everywhere even on the inside corners of the track. The place should not need a whole lot to get it going.
