For Immediate Release
Subject: Maverick Mayhem Week
Today J.S. Promotions announced the dates and locations for the Honest Abe Roofing Maverick Wing Sprint Car Series inaugural “Maverick Mayhem Week.” On tap are four nights of wing sprint car competition co-sanctioned by the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Outlaw Sprint Series. This series will begin on Thursday, June 20 at Lincoln Park Speedway and concludes on Sunday June 23rd at the Terre Haute Action Track. Drivers will hit the red clay of Bloomington Speedway on Friday June 21th, with the appearance at “The Class Track” Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana set for the following night. Each stop will pay $6,000 to the race winner, $500 to start, with drivers vying for a piece of the $26,000 purse. In the announcement Jill Spiker notes, “We are all excited to expand the offerings of Indiana racing and look forward to working with Steve and his group for four nights of wing sprint car racing.” Additionally long-time Interstate Racing Association leader Steve Sinclair adds, “we’re excited to partner with the new Maverick series, and we think this provides an exciting opportunity for our participants.”
At the conclusion of Mayhem Week an overall series champion will be crowned, and additional contingency awards are forthcoming. The full schedule for the 2024 Maverick Wing Sprint Car Series will be announced in the coming weeks.

So apparently THAT has a promoter for 2024, since they have a race scheduled there.

Looks like some miss information. This was on the Terre Haute Facebook page.

Here is a screen shot if it below.

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

My big concern is that I hope it’s on Flo, because of the IRA co-sanction, and the fact IRA is already a Flo participant

No wonder it is tough for a promoter to make it at Terre Haute. Most schedules are already finalized. No one in place to put together a schedule. Makes it hard to get good dates.

This year was definitely a weird year at that, to be honest I didn’t know if bill rose was running the show or if he was just the named person and the fair board was. It seemed more that it was the fair board. Then today’s post made it more what the heck.

Overall I want the track to succeed and not play who is the new promoter every year or so. I think the only way is to get the fair board out of there by selling that portion of the property to one promoter. The drag way lately seems to be change promoters every 2-3 years. The downside to selling the property would be if it failed, it could be sold for development and that would be worse.

These type of Facebook posts don’t help with the overall confidence of the track.
