IndyCar eyeing Milwaukee mile return in 2024.

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

I couldn't get the link to work, but sounds like a good deal. Not sure why you said "off topic". This is Indiana Open Wheel, and Indycar is an open wheel group based out of Indy.

Indycar needs more ovals. Ovals are Indycar's DNA. Ridiculous how few there currently are. And Milwaukee should never have gone. It's the most historic Indycar race other than Indy itself.

The challenge with Milwaukee could be Elkhart Lake / Road America date. Can those two races co-exist being so close together? Hope they can work it out.

It may be ridiculous there are not more oval races on the Indy Car schedule, but what ovals haven't been tried? Attendance has been terrible at ovals. Even Texas this year was awful. Tracks aren't lining up for oval races if they can't make a profit.

Forget a date during the State Fair, that seems off the table.

This would be great to get Indy Cars back to the Milwaukee Mile. I would like to see USAC consider a return for the Silver Crown division. They put on an excellent show up there back in the late 80's.

I’m sorry to say this, but why bother? How many times have they tried, and failed?
Didn’t Michael Andretti try promoting it, and it still failed?
I too wish for more ovals, but not so serious race fans won’t go watch that fantastic show at Texas, they’re certainly not going to watch the parade that Milwaukee brings.
Kentucky, Chicago, Michigan, Pocono, and more had edge of your seat racing, and they’re all gone. Milwaukee is not nearly as exciting except to more knowledgeable fans who enjoy ir, and it’s history. Sadly, those types of fans are dwindling.
In other words, Average Joe won’t be there, again.
Sorry

Let us all enjoy it for a few more years while they are still fuel powered and see what happens...sponsors, perhaps some decent TV ratings, a different promoter, etc...maybe it will work...
