Out if the three paragraphs I wrote, the only thing you took away from it was that you didn't care for my modified/baseball metaphor? I'm aware that they're two "ends of the spectrum." I'm also aware that a metaphor asserts that two unlike things, on some point of comparison, are the same. Modifieds and baseball are comparatively boring, only one slightly less so than the other.

What a waste of my time reading all of this crap. Just a bunch of diva cry baby's. Get over yourselves and just watch the races that we look forward to seeing all week each and every week.

As long and drawn out as this thread is, it is still way better than that race. I do love the people that say things about other tracks defending it.
Several years ago at a track in Illinois the Modifieds had 6 attempts to get the race started (They even tried doing a single file start). The promoter was irate, sent the cars to the infield where he informed every driver they were being put in "time out" and to stay in the car and that if anyone got out they would be sent home with no pay. They then rolled out the next feature which ran green to checker while the modifieds sat there 2x2 thinking about the situation. Once the Mods were allowed back on track, they proceeded to only have 1 caution during the Feature for a dropped driveshaft.
THAT... to me, is the best way to handle any division that can't handle itself.
All the crews and drivers deserve to have completion and fulfillment for working their tails off all week long just to get a car to the track regardless of division.
The Modifieds are my favorite class anywhere.
I travel all over going to races for every type of car and I understand the difference of weekday specials vs local weekly shows. If you have to leave the track after 11PM for a Sun-Thur night program... something needs to be changed. I personally don't like more than 4 total classes and prefer to be on the road by 11-11:30 at the latest (when racing starts at 8).
