I won't give you a specific date for the opening night because I don't know, but I wouldn't count on anything until the second week of May at the earliest. Then I wouldn't count on seeing good track conditions until the second week of june. This is just me blowing smoke because I don't know. You will probably hear people complain about the surface for the first month of racing. They will have the track ready for sprint week. I would suggest making both of these nights, win a bunch of money across the street the first night and rent a ride the second night of sprint week. Make usac sprint week history being the oldest rookie to win a sprint week event. Dwight can use that as a trivia question five years from now when things get slow. |

You were in such a hurry to post a "correction" that you missed the point of my post. (That happens way too often, to far too many reasonable posts on this board). Entrance or exit or line for the port-a-johns, unlike the new 'Burg, that opening at Anderson has already been proven unsafe. |

I agree Steve, those port-a-johns are unsafe regardless of where they are.

I know this is going to sound like what I am about to say has to do with my Gate Admission fued with Dave and it's just another way for me to complain. Please understand it is not, please know that I have tons of people I call Friends that will be racing on that track even though I won't be there. And their safety means alot to me and their families....I will easily admit that L'burg has the best safety crew of any racetrack I have ever been to, that has never been an issue....and it looks like you're spared no expense when it comes to the catch fence...
however... I sent several pics of the Speedway(and that opening) to those people that I know will be racing at the Burg from time to time and to a man, all of them were very very concerned about that opening. All of them said the same thing, a racecar will find that opening and someone will get hurt or at the very least tear up their car, there needs to be a gate...also, they were concerned about the 12' opening being to tight....I know the guys doing the work are pro's, I highly doubt you guys would hire someone that wasn't(Come on, even I will give you that much credit), but there are tons of Professionals out there that make mistakes...I really wish you'd re-cosinder and seriously think about putting a gate or something across that opening. Please listen to the folks that race at and attend your track(there are several on this thread alone), alot of them have expressed the same feelings as the drivers I spoke with...all of them cannot be wrong!!! the dirty one!!(oh and for the guy that would not take me serious on another thread because of my nickname) Bryant |

I stopped by Lawrenceburg last night on my way to Twin Cities to get a better view of the new track. It's big and banked and should definately produce some speed....Gone will be the days of the lessor motor and budget guys going to the Burg because he'd be able to compete and possibly out drive the big money and motor guys, he won't be able to now, I wonder if the local weekly guys will like it(and that's not a slam, that's simply me wondering if they will)!!!!!
That opening is even more scary seeing it in person though and extremely narrow, I wonder how a wrecker will do getting a broken racecar thru there, just a thought!! It's a shame I won't see it with cars on it!!! Maybe someone will take a video of it for me!!!! the dirty one!! |

From the picture of 1&2, The new seating seems to appear that you are going not have a very good seat. Good view of the back stretch. 3&4 is a long ways away and maybe see half the front stretch.
Is it just the angle of the shot? or are these Ucker seats? In the future are they going to raise the height of the front stretch stands? seems the first 15 rows will be starring at a concrete wall? |
