In the past 2 years I have sailed 1000 miles, flown 2500 miles and driven another 2500 miles to attend ISW. 1. no blankets until gates open, day of the race 2. reserve seats top 3 rows (perhaps provide season tickets at a discounted price for regular attendees) 3. no stadium seat chairs: seat cushions or blankets only 4. no coolers, I like an adult beverage as well as anyone, but there are very few places of entertainment who provide food and beverage for purchase that allow you to bring your own. 5. remove any blankets/chairs/tape left overnight. 6. provide "ushers" to actively oversee seating practices of "fans" who take up double and triple their needed space. I understand the desire of those who attend on a weekly basis to have "dibs", but every PAYING customer deserves an equal shot at seating. We often talk about expanding the appeal of our sport to new fans, if you took a first timer to Gas City for example, got there early but told them "no, we cannot sit in those seats, even though they remain unoccupied for the whole evening". Would they come back? Just my HO.

I was a fan long before I ever got behind the wheel and I fully understand the importance of getting the seat you want. Me and my family used to go to Eldora a week before the Kings Royal to reserve our chair spots. That was before Earl decided to reserve them. I think it is crazy to have to do that even for a big race. You should be allowed to reserve your spot in the stands or the hillside, the day of the race only. As far as the people who get there late and are pissed that all the good seats are gone, I'm sorry that is just the way it is!!

I think Gas City policy sucks, get to the track and take your chance at a good seat like all other working Joe's. Aero do you think you are someone special who's job is so inportmant that sometimes you may be late because of a stock holders board meeting, get a life.

I got into the pits at Gas City and spent the evening there during ISW. It was great talking to the drivers and owners during down time and I didn't have to deal with the ridiculous grandstands. The stands must have been built by the same outfit that did that tower over in some place called Pisa. Tom

To the guy who wants to ban coolers, get a grip.
I quit going to Gas City for Sprint Weeks due to the seat saving. Had an interesting time at Bloomington in 2009 (this year) over the very same practice. Both of these tracks offer fine racing. The Sprint Week shows are excellent. The guy putting down 18 chairs in front of me, then having 12 people show up was a bit over the top.
Stop the practice or figure out a way to make it work. The reserved seating idea sounds decent.

When we go to tracks other then our home tracks we sit where we can and accept that.Gas City thanks for letting fans who support all your weekly shows not just the big races have the seats they are in every week.Yes the bleachers leave a lot to be desired but you will not find a more fan friendly track then GC.

I dont see why other tracks cant do reserve seating rather than the blanket policy. I think its pure crap that if you get there at the first of the year you get the best seats year around regardless of when you show up on race night. Just shouldnt work like that.
I understand that some people at these tracks are there all the time but does that make them more valueable than the people that travel and really dont have a home track? They get excited to see a new track, show up 4-5 hours early and still sit 2 rows up from the fence.
