I somewhat agree with that, except that I don't want to be part of a circus.....however there must be a way to get'r done without insulting people and discouraging car owners and sponsors.....remember without us car owners and sponsors....most of these white hats and black hats who the fans so desperately want to cheer for would be sitting right next to those same fans in the stands.
Back in the day sprint cars offered great racing, exciting drivers and rim riding passing, affordable admissions and inexpensive concessions.....and good track promoters who knw how to put peaople in the seats.......sprint car racing didn't need a gimmick.....it was flat awesome !!!!
Carter, Kunzman, Chassey, Dickson, Bettenhausen, Cassella, Beale, Puterbaugh, Sesions, Astone, Gurney, Leavell, Ponzini, G. Leffler, Sheldon Kinser, Alderson, Frey, B. Jones, R. Shuman, Busson, Howerton, Nordhorn, B. East, G.Howard, Pepperak, Toth, Templeman, McElreath, Rapp, Simon............all these guy were accessible to the fans and fan friendly....I remember going to the uSAC races at Reading in the 70's and it was something we looked forward to all winter.....now, I don't even go to watch the cars I own race.
Sure there were rivalries.....Dickson & Bettenhausen was one I remember but the action was fought on the track not with insults and postings.
sometimes you need to go back to go forward. I think we are there
