In true Eldora style. The Coondog hunted em down and slayed em from Sixth starting position. Early battle between Darland Boat and Weir. DD said he didn't get a great start on the restart and Boat put a (No More MR. Nice guy slider on him for the lead. DD regained the lead and boat faded slowly durring the race as if they missed it just the least little bit. Coons past East, Boat, Weir, Darland and never looked back.
About laps 5-15 Weir was putting on a show in A 1X car that I believe is a RWB car. Him and Darland were battling each other for awhile. Something happened to weir and he pulled in. Gotta tell ya, I was rooting for Scottie!
Coons was able to put his car anywhere on the track, From Bouncing the wall to birm ridding as he did on the last lap. Just flawlessly executed. Congrats to Jerry, Amy, and the whole Hoffman Crew and Family.
Congrats to Christian Allen for being one of my heros and wanting to spend his military leave at the Burg. I can tell you for certain, HE ENJOYED IT! I sat next to him the whole night till Feature time. He'll be wearing a Hoffman 80years shirt on his time he isn't serving his country
I think if there would have been a caution at the end of the race. Brady Short would have gave Coons a run for the money. He had to have had the fastest car out there in the second half of the race, another 2-3 laps he would have passed DD. Great race and it was nice to finally put some faces to some names. Sorry we didnt hang around much much to talk we were kinda hungary and wanted to get back to the seats before hotlaps.
I must have arrived at the "meet and greet" too early or perhaps I left too soon. After a few words with 1BIGracefan, I walked over to what I thought was the BIGEBUDMAN's spot, noted three young ladies and a guy seated at tables, and another chap was at work on the grill (maybe BIGEBUDMAN himself, I thought). I said to no one in particular "this looks like the right place". Several turned to looked at me as though I had passed gas or otherwise offended, but without a word. Then I noticed cecil98 a couple of motorhomes up the line, so I slinked over to chat with him for awhile. Never did see anyone join the previously mentioned backstretchers. I'm now guessing that I had the wrong doggoned location, not an unheard of mistake for a gent of my age. Oh well, I tried.
Then made my way around the bend to join Section "A" suspects after a brief chat with Chuck Nungester. I did later get to meet for the first time Z-man and BuckeyeBullet. So, it was a pretty successful socializing night afterall.
Great racing, great friends, cold Pepsi, pocketfull of 50/50 losers from Cherie.......how good can it get??? :2:
