Provisionals are there for the sanctionong body to support the racers that follow their series. Whether you like it or not those are the rules to say that they rigged it is plain stupid. That night at Bloomington if Hagen had made the show through his heat Stanbrough would have received the provisional. It didnt seem fair but they DID go by their rulebook.

Cottle was a lap down and was between Stanbrough and Ballou on the next to last restart. Levi landed across the finish line, Ballou was just short of the line

The answer to the first question is, Levi flipped across the finish line to earn his 4th place finish...The hard way. Ballou flipped and was stopped by the catch fence, some fifteen feet from the start/finish line.

I was under the impression that Stanbrough didn't get a provisional at Bloomington last year because both Hagen and Hockett, who did take provisionals, were ahead of him in the ISW points. I was also under the impression that DD did get to use a provisional at Haubstadt, along with Hagen again, because they were the top two in points that didn't advance via their heats.

Where was the 36 of Short?

No, that is the rule. I don't know how you set your watch, but I'm there every week and I pay attention to what time things get over. I also stay for the stock car features (when they are run after the sprint A, which they usually are) and RARE is the Sunday that I get home after 11. That's after watching everything and taking my time leaving.
And don't rag on the O'Connors for last week. The show ran so fast (as usual) that they had to kill time so that you could see the fireworks in the sky. And I think interviewing the guys in front of the stands so people could see them and kids could get autographs was a great way to fill the time. And thanks for making my point with your 10:45 statement. I'd say the ENTIRE program plus fireworks being over at 10:45 after a nearly 35-minute intermission is pretty good.
