My thoughts on the NEW-BURG. I know that Dave probably thinks I'm a horse's &ss for my opinions on another 4 um but here goes. "IF" the NEW-BURG was some newly built track out in the middle of somewhere else, everyone would look at as though is was the NEW HOLY LAND. -but- The fact is that the Lawrenceburg we all grew up with was a great little track that had a decent crowd on a regular sat. night and alot of the butts in the seats were related to the people in the pits. It was family in the pits on the track and in the stands. The track was forgiving VERY forgiving and for young and old racers thats big. There's probably nothing worse than getting upside down, tumbling flipping off the track . Unless the other choice is to flip into a catch fence and get tossed back into the middle of the track for the pile on at twice the speed. Or if your in a dirt stock or mod and spin off the track and recover and simply drive around to the pits it will be ok. Now though if you spin there gonna be a concrete wall there waiting on ya to show up----then the pile on at twice the speed. There's lots of tracks that have everything The NEW-BURG has it just may not be new and shiney. But there are very few tracks that had what Lawrenceburg had. Lots of runoff room, lots of diehard fans young and old lots of history and lots of cars for a regular show. Yes the new track will be great when it gets a little seasoned and run in and I'm sure I'll wind up there some. This maybe a new track but its no replacement for the Lawrenceburg speedway we all grew up with. The people that decided to do this (politician or whomever) wanted to spend free money not thinking of the local racer or the diehard loyal fans. Someday hopefully they will admit this was their idea.............Dave I really wish you the best when this all gets going but I wonder if this season is going to be a lost cause?

What tracks are shutting down? You have Gas city,Bloomington on Fridays,Putnam, paragon, waynesfeild,Lawrenceburge on Saturdays, and Kokomo on Sundays and all are under 2hrs from Indy. Then you have Haubstat,Danville, North Vernon, Brownstown,Terre Haute, and others that run special shows for sprints. Looks like quite few to me.
