this is my 4th race at twin cities and i will def be back cause it usually kicks off my season but im just asking the fans that was there what they thought about the flag man? I mean friday night they are trying to get the sprint cars to hot lap and he doesn't turn on the green light people in the infield was trying to get the cars to go. I look up and he is up on the flag stand smoking him a cig now come on. During the feature on saturday night darland was catching riggs like nothing and the flag man couldn't even wave the flag to let riggs know that they was coming at first i was pissed because it caused darland alot of problems to get around him but then stanbrough and levi and short all had problems too. I am just saying the flag man could of caused someone to get hurt and some cars tore up. With all this said I appeciate him coming out and flagging this race because it looked like he hasn't done many. To twin cities maybe next time ask Lawrenceburg or Brownstown if there flagman would want to flag a big race. Everybody have a wonderful year and I will be back to Twin Cities

For what its worth, here is my opinion. I don’t know Mason personally, but he seems to be a very nice guy and really wanted to make the weekend work. I will throw Friday night out and just talk about Saturday. I think we have some serious die hard sprint car fans. If this race had been later in the season, I think people would have a different opinion of the race. I see on here all the time people complain about track prep, race times, how the races are drug out, etc. But everyone is so ready to see a race, everything is being overlooked. If we had gotten out of a USAC race that late, the message board would be lit up like a Christmas tree. Yes, there are complaints on here about the format and track conditions. But the overall consensus is, it was a grat night. I disagree. There was no organization at all. From pushing off all the cars to wheel pack and then have to come back and push them all off again for hot laps. Even when we went to the infield to qualify, they just pushed off whoever came up. Pushing 2 cars on the track at a time to start each race is ridiculous. I give you fans a ton of credit for sitting through the cold, putting up with a fight in the stands, sitting through a demolition derby, and watching us drive our asses of on a track with no passing. I want to support anyone that puts on a high paying open wheel show. We need more races like that and more guys like Mason to stand up at a drivers meeting and say they are going to try and get a race in instead of pulling the plug right away when it rains. But there has to be some organization with that many cars and that many divisions.

I love racing at Twin Cities in any kind of race car, especially a sprint car. I unfortunately didn't get to race or come watch due to a couple of tough circumstances, with that being said from everything I've heard I guess maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I wasn't there to race because of the poor format and track conditions and to watch because of the same 2 reasons that led to little passing and a drug out night. When I raced there for the mid week show last July we did group qualify one lap, which is fine but we at least inverted the fastest 4 qualifiers in the heats to make it a little interesting. You can't expect to have good racing with no invert! You can't expect to have good racing when a track is so dry and dusty the drivers are having trouble seeing! I hope to be racing at the July show and hopefully it will be back to a racey, stand on the gas kind of track that night! Im ready!

Shuman and Coons both made some good points. We went and appreciated them putting the race on, but racing didn't start until 8:30 and we also couldn't figure out why they pushed each group out individually to wheel pack. Why did they even need to wheel pack that much? The place with the most needed wheel packing was at the bottom in turns 1 and 2. We had mentioned the same thing about the criticism USAC would have recieved if they had sanctioned that race. Twin Cities didn't seem to have any security in place at all. When you get that large of crowd together at a place where alcohol is being served there needs to be some form of security. Authorites didn't show up until they had to be called for the first fight under the grandstands. They were lucky authorites were still around when the second altercation occured. I wondered also what the drivers thought of the safety of the place, with the fence and such.

You could bring your own alcohol in.

Granted I do not know if alcohol was being served, but there was still a lot of alcohol being consumed, with someone throwing a beer can onto the track. Either way when you get that many people together you still need some form of security.
