Thanks for the info everybody. I'm just waking up from a clouded bikini contest at a local watering hole last night (this morning). :action-smiley-049:

I think sweet had a little somethin for coons that last lap(slider goin into turn 3) he just drove a little to hard comin out of 2 tryin to get a run on him.

Except for the crashes and the cold, I would rate this a great night of racing.

Heats were good and the feature had its drama. It would have been interesting to see Sweet try the big slider on Coons for the win.

A bit dusty during the B main but not bad.

Had it not been for the crashes in the feature, the program would have likely been completed in under 2 hours.

Who did the announcing during the sprint car events? A superb job !!!! :thumb

I think it was a great race...lots of CLEAN sliders, three different leaders, Sweet building drama on the white flag lap, Green-White-Checkered finish.

Get well soon Darren!

To Don Moore: After the feature they pumped our engine to check if it was legal. That is 3 times in the last 4 wins that we have been checked. They skipped the 3rd one as it was the night after the 2nd win.

Yup, they teched the top three as the rules state

IDK, Sweet at times was faster but Jerry said when he slowed and hit his marks he was actually faster. Sweet was certainly on the gas and at least equal. We'll never know. Im just glad he was relatively OK afterwards. Seen that move dozens of times at Big E on the hammer. Tap the wall out of two (WHICH TO PUP is proper procedure LOL) and hammerdown the back straight. I've seen it done to perfection but eventually the wall or the cushion there upsets the car a little and what happened to Sweet happens. If it don't there was going to be a massive slider in 3-4 he was gaining that fast.

Seen both Haudenchild and Eric Gordon flip doing that move while leading in both CRA and USAC action. Its the fast way and the dangerous way.

Happy Easter everyone.
Congrats to HAR, Coondog and everybody. Get well Darren

I think Rob's message to Don might contain a hint about USAC's engine checking: they just might be more inclined to check USAC winner's engines.

I think both have points. If they hadn't been doing it. Don's point was valid. Rob doesn't run Midgets so how does he know if they are or not?

That rule has been there. *Tech the top three finishers* forever it seems. If they got away from it or don't do it in other classes?????

Thing is, YOU SHOULD EXPECT IT and thats the whole reason for having the rule.
