Hate the passing points system, don't for the life of me understand how a car that finished fourth in their heat has to run the b main to make the feature, but a car finishing fifth goes straight to the feature, kind of punishes a drivers that starts toward the front and holds off others cars. No one around me understood the passing points system.

I've seen several series use passing points systems, and I have yet to see a race where the announcer did a decent job of explaining the system to the fans. Series should make sure the announcer explains the system, AND they should have a print out of the formula posted in a prominent place near the spectators (perhaps near the concession stands?) Then after the heats, they should post the points on a sheet of paper with five columns: start position, finish position, points from finishing position, points earned from passing cars, and total points. You might still have half the fans confused, but that's better than nearly all the fans, which is the situation now.

Passing points are decent but the system HAS to be explained. I had a hell of a time explaining it to my wife.

I like it because it makes sure that the pole sitter in the heats can't just take it easy, pull up 4th and get in the feature.

TSS is the BEST prepped track in the Nation. I guess you have no clue about QUALITY. MSCS lines the cars up so all the fans and little ones can get a glimpse of the cars up close. And TSS in the middle of no where? The more I read this post I just realize how dumb you really are. If you want to keep ******** you can take a long walk off a short pier. We don't want your negativity back at TSS. I'm sure they'll do just fine without your business.
First off, it was a co-sanctioned race between USAC and MSCS, and not just MSCS like you seem to think. The only reason it seemed more like a MSCS race was because more of their officials are from around there, so it made more sense for them to just handle it. It doesn't mean it was any more of a MSCS race than it was a USAC race. You've made this some kind of attack on yourself, which it wasn't, it was just the facts of what happened last night. I like Tri-State just as much as the next guy, the track is fast, and prepared very well. But you don't need to take an hour break. They need to find a way to get it done faster. And I'm dumb because I said it's in the middle of nowhere? Look at where the majority of the cars came from. Cities and towns closer to the Terre Haute and Indy area. And just like Brent Funk said, you need to look at the time zone issue. Whether you believe it or not, there's a ton of race fans that came from the Indy area last night, and it becomes a big issue with getting home at 2:30 or 3 in the morning. It's no reason to send me a personal message stating I'm a dumba**. I'm just as entitled to state my own opinions on here as you are.

You must have a slow clock, because it was an hour, and we're not exaggerating. Just stating the facts. And thats not even including the modified b-main.

For those that didn't think the heats meant anything at Terre Haute, 4 out of the top 6 qualifiers didn't make a transfer position in the heats. Instead of starting on the pole, I started 5th. I believe 11th quick started on the pole.
If I hadn't made it through my heat
and run the B, I would of started 11th. There wasn't much passing in the heats there because the track was so fast, there wasn't anywhere to pass.

I've only been to TSS once, for this year's Sprint Week. Best facility I have been to in Indiana, especially like being able to buy a reserve seat. I will not bad mouth TSS because it was great. However, from my one TSS experience (admit not much to go on) I prefer the racing at Kokomo because they carry more speed through the corners. With regards to Kokomo not being fan friendly, I like the fact that they move the program along and only work the track when necessary. If it needs reworked for the feature, they do it, if not lets race. I couldn't understand why they worked the track at TSS before the Sprint Week feature, it was just getting racy. Anyway, I don't mind that I have to buy drinks at Kokomo, hey I want the track to make money so it stays in business. So I spend a few extra bucks on some beverages, no big deal to me. If I lived closer to TSS, I would be there all the time but 4 hours is just too much when I can be at the track in Kokomo in 10 min and Gas City in 40 minutes.

Ok, lets look at last nights posts. B-main finished around
9:18 CST. I posted they were about to push off for the feature at 10:11 CST.

Add in that PITIFUL modified race that took about 25 minutes to run and what do you have? Thats right, about 25 minutes of down time. Yea, there was about an hour of downtime for the SPRINTS but there was not an hour of downtime.

Now, if you dont sit and watch the modified race, yes, it seems like a huge amount of time but all in all, it was not much.

There is more ******** on this message board than a episode of the view.Honestly some people need to sit back and be glad on how great we have it.You are all crying about watching roughly 40 sprint cars run for a 50 lap feature that pays 10 g's to win.Are you ******* kidding me?Do you know how many fans would give their left nut to live here and be privileged with the racing we get to see on a weekly basis (if you actually go to the track ).I would like you all to sit back and think about that next time a track gets a little dusty or rough or the food isn't up to par the facility isn't top notch and you want to sit here and cry about it be glad we get to see what I and hopefully some of you consider the greatest sport in the world roughly 3 times in 7 days throughout the summer.
