Like I said. Stop the race halfway no fuel or tires allowed then. If an open red occurs then you must start on the tail if you change tires. This way your not changing the rules for the cars but just how the race itself will be managed.

If they want to red flag it let them red flag it #@it what's the problem. AS long as it's a good race... Leave the cryin' for hoseheads!!!

Last good race I saw at the fairgrouds was in 96. It was scheduled for friday, however rains came and they had to move it to saturday at 11 am. Not sure who was promoting at that point but it was great to see the passion and dedication for everyone involved to get the show in the next day. I recall George Snider winning the race but was dq and the win was given to Darland. The best part about that day was the dash over to IRP for the midget race that night. Those were the good old days. The race has lost its passion. Many of the stars and cars are now gone and if it spirnkles track enterprises is quick to call it and not even attempt a retry as we saw on a saturday in 96.

Scenario...

Let's say Sheldon Kinser sits on the pole. Green flag flies and he is gone...has lapped up to fourth place Bigelow and Bettenhausen in second is a full straight away behind Kinser.

Then on lap 50 Jerry Nemire and Larry Rice get together causing Rice to go end over end bringing out the red flag on lap 51.

Everyone makes changes and when they come on out, the scenario has changed and Bigelow's car is much better and he is catching Kinser who is still bad fast. Race comes down to the last five laps with with Bigelow trying to pass Kinser on the white flag.

-------

Yes, what TE is talking about doing this year is a manufactured deal and it can be called gimmicky, but it "COULD" provide a more entertaining second half of the race for the "casual" fan. (which we need!)

Oh yeah, in that above scenario... it could be that there was no red flag stop, Kinser's right rear goes away and in classic Silver Crown 100 miler fashion, Bigelow has saved his and catches him anyway.

Not a fan of the red flag at 51 laps, leave tradition alone. All this red flag will do is help milk the concession stand a little more. I do not care for side by side restarts either or sending lapped cars to the rear. Restart the race where it stopped.

That is the wrong decision and when this series and its rich history and tradition go down, i dont want you to say a thing about it. Guys, we have to support these shows and while not everyone will ever agree, , thats life, concentrate on the good in it, not always the bad. Sure these things can be improved but nothings perfect in your life or mine! I beleive that its gonna take all open wheel fans to support these races, lets get there and show our support!!! Red flag at 51 or not, I'll be there for the sights and sounds that I love.

p.s. perfect scenario by mile dirt, lets not judge yet

This red flag is for the fans hoping to add some excitment. Not a fuel red.

Add fuel change tires, adjust the cars.

Change tire start in the rear.

Then restarted double file !!!!

This is asked by the promoter of USAC to make it more exciting for the fans.

They have to run regulation silver crown fuel tanks no small ones.
[Some teams thought about putting the smaller sprint car tank on]

I'm not sure what to say about this ???

What does everybody think about the New Hoosier 100 ????

Why should you have to go to the rear if you change a tire on this red? You can change tires without penalty on any other red!

This is CHAMP CARS not SPRINTS or MIDGETS!!

I don't like these changes. 100 laps races are what sets Champ Cars apart from Sprints.

But either way I WILL be there!!!
