I'm not saying you were. In USAC a bad qualifying night can put a driver in such a hole that they may never be able to dig themself out of. And that's the situation Shane found himself in, tonight.

We are huge fans of Shane and he was absolutely flying through the B. He just came up 1 spot short but he definitely put on a show!

Qualifying is everything in USAC. If you are in the top 6 in qualifying, then you must transfer your heat to stay in the top 6. When you don't, then you will go back to 7th, 8th, depending on how many of the top 6 doesn't make it. After that, it all goes back to qualifying.

They actually ran a C-main at Lawrenceburg. We were all like what race is this? It was a good deal for the racers though.

This format not much better say a guy has trouble in qualifying car wont run or flips starts 12 in his heat bust's his ass finishs 5 th no reward he still starts tail of c- main fast quailifer breaks on first lap of heat starts on pole of b-main seems like they need to find a better format not saying old way was any better when they only took top 32 qualifers and everyone else ran a non qualifer but with big car counts they should look at it jmo

Josh came out for qualifying and the car did not sound good and was hardy running. Went in and came out as last qualifier of night with only one lap. Jumped the cushion in turn two and that ruined his one time trial lap chances. Tough time when you get behind the 8 ball early on.
