Are there tire rules because there are tire companies paying tracks or sanctioning bodies to have tire rules? Would there steering box (or insert component here) rules if manufacturers were paying for those rules to be in place?

USAC and everyone else that hosts high budget sprint cars has tire rules to eliminate ultra soft qualifying tires that only last a few laps. Without a rule you would need a new tire for each,TT's the heat and the feature. That's what I heard the outlaws were doing before they had rules.

then they sold them to the low dollar teams.
unless there is a "run it all night" rule, guys that can will be bolting on new tires every time they go on the track, no matter what the spec'ed compound is.
i have seen pa. teams wait till the pits clear out after an outlaw race and scour the pits for used tires off the outlaws cars.

If it were about money, take it out of any money he would win at the track in 2014...there is more to it. (somebody made somebody mad!)
My worry is how it may affect USAC putting on a show where all of it's top teams can't come.
Would the World of Outlaws sanction a race at a track that would not allow Steve Kinser or Donny Schatz?
Our sport does not need any of this. There has got to be a better way to resolve this without emotions.

My opinion... If someone is guilty of cheating. They should be banned from ALL tracks (all non wing racing) for 1 full season.

We ran two seasons on a pair of WoO throwaway Goodyear Eagle fronts. Put probably 25 nights on them & they would have been good for more if the sanction hadn't added a 4 corner Hoosier rule. I don't mind tire rules but I do hate it when they change the rules & we have to buy something other than what we have!

That would save some money, if you had to run the same right rear for the rest of the night from your Heat Race on!

so if u get a speeding ticket should you not be aloud to drive on the road for a year....or should you just have to pay the ticket...because this is a rule (whucg law) that is broken by every one of us daily...even if it is 21 mph in a 20 mph zone...thats cheating....its only when a person proves time and time again they cannot follow this rule that they finally lose their license.i dont condone cheating...but noone is perfect

That race was at the end of the year. Just think about what they were doing before and if what they would do in 2014.

As far as durometer readings , I can pretty much take any tire or compound and make it read what ever I want it too before or after a race. Sniffers definitely won't do it. The only way to control doping is to take samples and have them tested by a lab.
