It did slick off quite a bit in the last half of the feature, but when you factor in the action that was happening in the first half it still turned out to be a pretty good race. Somebody earlier talked about Chris Windom and confidence. Chris has always been fast, but now not only is he fast, but seems to be on a mission and looks to be driving with a definite sense of purpose. Tonight, once he grabbed the lead he checked out and even stretched it out more once he started weaving his way through lapped traffic. Dave Darland, from the back of the B and then from the back of the A to 7th provided a great deal of the evening's entertainment. But, we've seen that so many times that we've come to expect it. Clauson got over Windom's wheel on the first lap, dropped nearly to the back, and worked his way back till he settled into one of the races best battles, with the aforementioned Darland and Brent Beauchamp. BC did everything but lift his foot off the gas to try to make a full recovery. But, by that time the top part of the track had become a very tough place to try to make a living. Shane Hmeil was all over Jon Stabrough like a cheap suit for the entire second half of the race. JS had to fight hard to keep fourth spot. When Hmeil keeps it tires side down, he almost always ends up showing what a tough competitor he is. On many a night Shane Cottle would have won, as he was stellar. But he could only finish first on the list of guys that didn't have anything for Chris Windom, tonight. All in all, it wasn't the greatest race I've ever seen at Bloomington Speedway, but it was a great night at the track. That always has been a well run track and it always feels like home.
