A girl where I work said she heard I was going on vacation for a few days, and asked where I was going. Told her I was going to the Chili Bowl. She said Oh I have heard of that, isnt that where such and such plays so and so?? She thought it was a football game.

I had to tell her it was an indoor midget race.

EXACTLY! I get some of the strangest looks and comments.."midgets drive race cars?" "like stock cars?" "on DIRT?" etc.
On the other hand, I kind of like that it's not something many know about. The last thing we need is for it to "go to the next level"

Initially sponsored by the Chili Bowl food company of Bob Berryhill,

And theres your answer

Chuck, who loves events where it's not widely known exactly what it is. It makes it possible to attend them without scalpers running the cost.

I think it's at the next level now , pay per view and all the PR about it and the big dog's. It get as much PR as the Indy 500 now so much for a simple good thing and low prices.
